The city of Parker Colorado has been ranked No.2 by Money.com on its 2020 Best Places to Live in America list. Furthermore, Money describes the Douglas County municipality, the county’s second-most populous city behind Castle Rock. Parker boasts delicious local restaurants, craft breweries, and lodging facilities such as at Ascent on Main. In addition to golfing and equestrian, hiking, biking and walking are popular on the Cherry Creek Trail. Moreover, this picturesque trail originates in Denver, runs through Parker and continues south to Castlewood Canyon State Park. As a result, it is one of the 15 BEST things to do in Parker. Parker has continued to grow over the last several years. The population now is estimated at around 80,000. New housing developments are popping up on the west side of Parker and south closer to Castle Rock. So there’s a combination of newer homes along with the older homes in neighborhoods such as the Pinery and Grand View Estates. The median sales price of homes, at this time, is about $560,000. If you want to live close to town and have more of an urban lifestyle, you can do that in one of the condominiums or townhouse complexes as well as apartments. That will position you within walking distance of many restaurants, shopping, and recreation as well. If you prefer to be out with some open space, there are areas of homes that offer larger lots. There are even ranches and horse properties that are offered with 3 to 35 acres. All of this is available in this diverse community and once again only 20 minutes to the I-25 interstate highway and 40 minutes into downtown Denver.
The city of Parker Colorado is synonymous with wildlife. Depending on your location, daily you may see deer, elk, foxes, eagles, hawks, falcons, porcupines, raccoons, squirrels, antelope, pronghorns cranes, egrets, owls, coyotes, bears, pumas, snakes, possum, and many other critters.
Believe it or not, you do not have to be miles out in the country for this experience with the wildlife. If there is not much wildlife where you have chosen to live, don’t fret. You can get that wildlife experience within a 15 to minute drive to a trail, canyon, or lake/reservoir.
